Welcome to Our Lady of Peace School,
To our current Our Lady of Peace School families, thank you so much for choosing our school and entrusting us with your children. To all of our past school families, thank you so much for making our school a great place for everyone to grow and for building a school with great history and traditions. To all of the prospective families, thank you for considering our school for your child(ren), and I want you to know that if you choose to send your child(ren) to our school, he/she/they will receive an outstanding education and grow as a person. They will be challenged each and every day in and out of the classroom to grow as a student, a person, and as a Catholic.
Our school is a place where our children grow academically, emotionally, physically, and most importantly, spiritually every day. Our school is a place that we will strive for excellence from everyone involved (children, parents, staff members, teachers, and administration). As a Catholic school in the Diocese of Joliet, Our Lady of Peace School takes pride in teaching more! Our teachers have high expectations of our children. Our teachers look for a variety of ways to challenge each child at his/her academic level and at the same time, have and show compassion for each of our children. We strive for excellence always, but growth daily. We not only teach to the high standards that our school families have come to expect, but we also do it with a kind and compassionate heart. At Our Lady of Peace School, our children and staff go above and beyond to grow individually and as a school community. Not only are we developing young minds for the here and now, but we are also preparing them for their future pursuits in life.
Our Lady of Peace of School is a place that strives to grow as a community through communication and collaboration. As the new school principal, I know that the only way that we will grow as a school, is if we do it together. I am committed to working closely with our children, parents, parishioners, staff members, and anyone else that wants what is best for our school and our children.
This year, I would like us to use School Speak as more of a communication tool than what it has been used in the past. School Speak should be a place where parents and children come to look at grades, but also a place where you can find classroom and school documents, classroom and school newsletters, classroom and school calendars, etc. This year, School Speak will be a go to page for an open line of communication between the school and home.
Our Lady of Peace School will help our children build close relationships with family, friends, staff members, and most importantly God. One of the most important things that adults can teach their children to do is to not only pray/talk to God, but to build a relationship with God and know that He is always there for us.
In my short time at Our Lady of Peace School, I have asked one question over and over to the children, parents, alumni, and teachers and staff. That one question is, “What makes Our Lady of Peace an excellent school?” The responses that I have received have included a variety of answers, but most of the answers have revolved around two common themes. Those themes are family and home. I look forward to being a part of the Our Lady of Peace family and thank each and every one of you for accepting me into your home.
Thank you again for either sending your child(ren) to our school or for considering sending your child(ren) to Our Lady of Peace School. Our school is a place that we will work together to create the best possible place for each and every child to grow academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I look forward to working with each and every one of you to help develop that magical place.
God bless,
Anthony J. Wilkinson
